"Backyard Visitor"

He can't resist the apple orchard.

"Along the Alum Cave Trail"

Alun Cave Trail is one of the most diverse for fauna and scenery in North America.  Located in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, if you continue up to Mount LeConte the hike is only 5.5 miles.  Although the elevation change is 2,560 feet!  Notice the blue area to the right of the bridge.  This is a natural tunnel carved out by water, that the trial passes through.

"Highway to Heaven"

Hiking in the rain can be very productive.  "Highway to Heaven" was taken just after a shower, in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park.

Sunrise in Appalachia

Taken during the last class I instructed.  It is a panoramic mural, with eight images merged.

David Baldacci

Betty and I had the pleasure of taking David Baldacci's portrait in his library. Mr. Baldacci has over twenty novels, on the New York Times best selling list.  His first book was "Absolute Power", which was a smashing hit, and his books have continued to be top sellers.  His latest is "The Sixth Man".  He is extremely nice, it was a pleasure to work with him.  Obviously he has done this many times, he was very comfortable in front of the camera.  I chose to backlight him, trying to keep the bookcase as dark as possible.  It was only about three feet behind Mr. Baldacci.
