This waterfall is 50 feet high. My thinking as I was attempting the climb to this waterfall, was that accidents do happen and was I willing to accept the consequences of my actions. The North Carolina Waterfall Info on line states: This falls can theoretically be reached by climbing up the scramble path from the lower falls. However, that equates more to technical climbing than hiking (think ropes and harnesses), and is NOT recommended, until a safer path is established. The Forest Service says it plans on developing a better trail in their Schedule of Proposed Actions, so hopefully this will pan out soon.
